Andre Foods South Sudan (AFSS) is a registered National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in South Sudan with a broad-based approach to humanitarian challenges. AFSS focuses on a multi-faceted approach to address food insecurity, malnutrition, health, WASH, environment, and education.

To provide comprehensive approaches in delivery of quality services in the areas of, livelihood, Food Security, Nutrition, Health, WASH and education with consideration to gender equity and social inclusion (GESI), GBV and child protection, environment and climate change adaptations for enhanced resilience of health system for sustainability.
Vision
To have communities that are empowered and free of malnutrition and other preventable diseases by ensuring increased access to quality primary health care services and enhancing local capacity to own and effectively manage, social, nutrition and health.

Under this thematic area, AFSS has enormous experience in providing humanitarian services in South Sudan. AFSS strategies strongly strengthen such support through Food assistance, Non-Food assistance, Cash assistance to persons of concern under its programs.

This thematic area aims at an integrated Health and Nutrition approach, through Nutrition specific and sensitive programming, Nutrition Education, Research & Innovation, and Curative Health to provide both nutrition and health services to vulnerable communities. This approach is to increase the coverage of both nutrition and health services in the country especially for children, pregnant and lactating women. This is meant to improve access to antenatal and postnatal care, HIV counseling and testing, Malaria testing and treatment as well as vaccination and route medication

This thematic area aims at the promotion of optimal Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices through rewarding positive communities, radio spot messages, and production & dissemination of IEC materials.

This thematic area aims at improving the attitudes and practices of vulnerable children and their families within the communities AFSS serves in South Sudan towards livelihood support programs and across the East African region.

AFSS will focus on asset creation, combined with conditional food assistance to helps food insecure communities to move away from reliance on humanitarian assistance to achieve more sustainable food security. 

Finance literacy training of cash beneficiaries is aimed at empowering them with knowledge in financial management through trained change agents to help them make informed financial decisions.

Under this thematic area, AFSS is aimed at the continued development of various innovative techniques and conducting both qualitative and quantitative studies. AFSS successfully researched the management of MAM using locally available food materials through which a supplementary diet METU-1 was developed (Amegovu et al 2013).  AFSS is focused to conduct quite a several research on Rainfall harvesting, Nutrition profiling, and the formulation of METU-2. AFSS is also developing a local therapy for the management and prevention of malnutrition for Maridi and Ibba counties of Western Equatoria state.

This thematic area aims at controlling resources and the “Do No Harm” to the environment. In ensuring such protection, AFSS focuses on the use of alternative sources of fuel and community awareness on environmental conservation.
